SMILING IN THE RAIN!

Me wearing: my ASOS yellow raincoat with a Chinti & Parker sweater, Petit Bateau Breton tee and Paige Denim 'Monet' wash jeans.

I was in Norfolk last weekend for a family trip to the seaside and besides the usual Breton stripes and jeans I couldn’t get enough of this yellow ASOS raincoat, I know I look a bit like a lifeguard but the sunshine yellow really cheers me up on rainy days, plus anything from the Paddington Bear school of style gets a thumbs up from me! My ASOS raincoat has sold out but Petit Bateau have this little beaut (see below) in stores now! Go on... you know you want to.

Me wearing: 3.1 Philip Lim top, Won Hundred shorts, Be & D sandals, Victoria Beckham bag and Louis Vuitton sunnies.

Earlier this month me and my new colleague Tabitha Newell took a trip to the Big Apple to spend a few days in the New York office. It was so much fun working away from home and getting to know the market over there from a new perspective. Every time I visit NY it’s like going for the first time, there’s so much to do, and eat and drink!! Here’s a little taster of what we got up to and of course, what we wore...

Outside the office in Soho
Me wearing: a Thu Thu dress with Valentino sandals and my Victoria Beckham bag.

In Manhattan

ICE-LOLLY STRIPES

Me wearing: J Crew striped cardigan, with Gap chinos, an L.K.Bennett belt and Michael Kors watch.

I’m not sure if I’m eating or wearing more ice-lollies at the moment! Bright stripes and colour blocking are great for looking summery even when it’s not that hot outside (yes I’m having a stay-cation this summer!) and the newest piece lighting up my wardrobe is this cashmere cardie from J Crew (which has just gone into the sale). I love its combination of neon pink and pastel hues, combined with its gold buttons.
But that’s not the only colour clash I’ve got going on right now, my bespoke Timberland deck shoes are also a bit of a colour explosion! I designed them online from scratch (the options are endless, it's so much fun) and they even have my initials embossed on the tongue and inner sole!

Bespoke: my colour block Timberland deck shoes.

HIGHLAND FLING: LIAN HIRST & PAUL CRABBIE TIE THE KNOT!

Spotted through the trees: Lian Hirst arrives in her vintage wedding dress, with her father and Brian the whippet.

Lian (Hirst, co-founder of Trace Publicity) is one of my favourite people, I was so excited when she got engaged in 2011 that I screamed the office down, so to say that I was looking forward to her getting married to her longterm partner Paul Crabbie is an understatement!
Me and (my boyfriend) Gary flew up to Inverness the day before and embarked on our super luxe stay at the Boathe House (eye-watering prices but totally worth it) which kicked off with a lovely lunch, before heading out to the wedding party welcome drinks at a local pub on the water front.

Me and bridey Lian: by the sea on the eve of her wedding.

Fast-forward to Saturday afternoon and we're knocking our hangovers on the head with some pre-ceremony Pimms on the gorgeous lawn at the front of Lian and Paul's friend's house (the venue for their perfect Highland wedding). At 2.30pm precisely we headed through some little trees and down a grass walk-way that opened out to reveal a hay bale lined aisle, where we took our seats for the ceremony.
The groom appeared in traditional Scottish dress and then bagpipes started to play... we turned to see the bridesmaids walking down the path (in coordinating silk, floor sweeping Ghost dresses) followed by Lian on her dad's arm, with Brian the whippet in tow!
Lian looked incredible in a vintage lace dress with Charlotte Olympia shoes, Maria Francesca Pepe jewellery and her signature red lipstick. After a delicious dinner bridey changed into a custom-made, breathtaking Charlotte Simpson dress and dare I say it, a second pair of Charlotte Olympia heels, perfect for dancing the night away… which is exactly what we did.

Here come the bridesmaids: (from back left) Sharon RidoynauthToshea Uriyo, Zoe Bowring and Bonnie Rakhit,
all wearing Ghost.

Picturesque: Lian and Paul take their vows.

Seeing red: Jean Pierre Braganza and family.

Cheers: bridesmaid Toshea Uriyo and her husband Brian.

Ladies on the lawn: (from left) Tove Westling, Georgia Hardinge and Julia Morgan.

Suit and tie: (from left) Michael Hilton, Adrian Stannard, Eric Down, Gary Journeaux and Kyle.

Hair wars: Abena Ofei with Mr. bagpipes.

Time to dine: Charlotte Pollard wearing Cos.

AND WE WORE:

Me wearing: a Victoria by Victoria Beckham dress with Jimmy Choo sandals, an Anya Hindmarch clutch
and Alexis Bittar earrings (tipsy already!).

Gary Journeaux wearing: a suit by The Kooples, with a Hugo Boss shirt, K Karl Lagerfeld tie, Lanvin tie pin,
and Office shoes.
